Easter in Santa Fe is a day I won’t soon forget.
I pottered around the square in Santa Fe while my Catholic mother attended Easter Sunday mass. When it was over, she met me and we discussed our plans for the rest of the morning. All of a sudden, a flock of red and black crowded the square. Religious leaders from all the local churches, as well as the Knights of Columbus and various altar boys, began a slow and somber march around the center of town, many waving Easter palms and singing Easter hymns.
We’d never seen anything like it. Different denominations coming together to celebrate a single Christian holiday. The world could learn a lot from such collaboration!
