I've been thinking a lot about money lately. With all the news about inflation, rising interest rates, and looming recession, is it any wonder?
If you're like a lot of business owners, you're wondering if you'll survive more tough times, especially after we all struggled through COVID (I say that as if it's over...). If worries over money are keeping you up at night...read on.
The Psychology of Fear
Fear is a natural human element. It protects us. Back when we were cavepeople, fear is what alerted us that the big furry cat growling at us might not be friendly, and fear is what spurred us to run to safety.
We no longer typically need to fight for survival, and yet fear persists.
Many of us worry ourselves into anxiety...
...What if I don't have enough in revenues to cover my bills next month?
...What if I lose a client?
...What if I break my neck and hands and can't work anymore?
I read something in a book recently that really struck me. It said something to the extent of: just because we think a thing doesn't mean it will happen.
We often let fear consume us, building up imagined scenarios that will never actually happen. And this is doing more damage than simply creating anxiety.
Fear and the Law of Attraction
Like everything in the Universe, fear is an energy. It creates a vibration, and not a very high one.
If you know a little about the Law of Attraction, it says that like attracts like. Thinking positive thoughts will attract positive actions. Thinking negative thoughts will attract negative actions. So if you're living a fear-based existence, what do you think will happen?
I know plenty of entrepreneurs who have a money scarcity mindset. That's a fancy way of saying they have a fear of lacking the money they need or want. Unfortunately, this tends to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. Think you won't have enough money and the Universe grants that wish.
Fear creates a vacuum that sucks up all the possibilities of good in our lives. It creates lack and suffering.
Let's Cancel This Recession
I sense that we are on the cusp of a recession that may impact markets far beyond the U.S. While I'm not belittling the impact and strain this may have on individuals and businesses, I also choose to operate from a place of that financial lack not being on my radar.
In other words, I choose to cancel the recession.
I'm being pithy, but what I mean is that I refuse to let fear generated by the media and gossip cause me to lower my vibration into fear. I refuse to let economic conditions dictate my belief in my ability to generate wealth.
And I encourage you to do the same.
A Message from the Universe
To add a lil' spirituality to this post, I drew an oracle card from the Oracle of the 7 Energies deck and got the card you see above: Roots of Abundance. I always laugh when the card I draw is so on the nose!
The message here is that abundance runs deep, like roots. Economies go through recessions and times of prosperity. We've been here before, and we'll be here again. It's important to dig our roots in and ground as the winds of recession try to toss us around.
Here's a message from the card:
"If you find yourself in ungrounded thinking, now is the time for radical trust. Growth never follows a straight line; you will manifest what you need when you need it. A tall, healthy tree doesn't need to hold on to the ground for dear life. It knows it will not fly away with the wind, because its roots are planted deep in the earth.
